At the 2018 World Juniors in Buffalo, a Team USA jersey was whirling around the ice in red, white and blue with "Tkachuk" stitched on the back.

Brady Tkachuk is expected to go very high in the upcoming NHL Draft, following in his father's and brother's NHL lineage. The younger Tkachuk has been around the NHL life for years, and it has been of big help throughout this pre-draft process.
"I definitely feel I'm pretty used to it," he said. "I'm pretty used to the lifestyle and how each guy carries himself. Everyone knows so much about hockey. It's nice to finally be a part of it."
And having his older brother Matthew (Calgary) go through the draft process in 2016 is also of huge assistance.
"I think it's definitely helped a lot," Tkachuk admitted. "I get to talk to him and he went through it two years before. He's got a lot of insight. He's given me a couple pointers and he's been a real big help."

Tkachuk is NHL Central Scouting's second-ranked North American Skater, following a freshman year at Boston University. As the new kid on the block, Tkachuk potted eight goals and added 23 assists in 40 games for the Terriers. But it was the aforementioned World Juniors where Tkachuk came alive, scoring three goals and recording six assists in seven games on route to a bronze medal.
"I think it was a tough start. I thought I adjusted over the first half, but definitely at World Juniors I played pretty well. I just wanted to elevate that going to BU for the second half," Tkachuk said.
The adjustment to playing against older, more mature players in the NCAA was one of the hardest challenges to overcome.
"I was used to winning battles, every battle in the USHL, because they were all my own age. But finally playing against 23 year-olds, five years older than I am, is different but I thought I adjusted over time."

Tkachuk will wait until after the draft to determine his destination for the 2018-19 season.
"I have not made a decision," he said. "I'm going to wait until after the draft and what team picks me and what they want me to do. I'm definitely going to wait and talk to my family and stuff and make a decision that's best for me too."
But don't confuse indecision with a lack of confidence. Tkachuk is convinced that if the club who chooses him wants him to jump to the professional ranks, he's ready.
"I definitely think so," he said. "After a big summer, I've already been working out for six weeks now so I've already had a good summer and I know I'm going to be working hard and definitely try to get a couple pounds heavier and stronger."
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"He's a complete package who can be impactful in every situation, with and without the puck. If you need a goal, he'll go get a scoring chance. If you're protecting a lead, he'll be responsible defensively. If you need someone to go in there and throw their weight around a little bit, he's a guy who steps up. He seems to rise to those occasions." - Director of NHL Central Scouting Dan Marr
