Draft-Goalies

With the
forwards
and the
defensemen
down, there's only one position left to dive into ahead of Friday's opening round of the 2021 NHL Draft: the netminders.
The class is headlined by a pair of first-round potentials, which could make this year the first time since 2012 that two goalies were taken in the first round (Andrei Vasilevskiy, Malcolm Subban).
Chicago took a shot-stopper in with a second-round selection a year ago, but if they do turn back to the crease this year at No. 12 or beyond, here are a few names that NHL Central scouting has atop their lists:

North American Goalies

1. Sebastian Cossa, G (Edmonton - WHL)
2. Benjamin Gaudreau, G (Sarnia - OHL)
- "Gaudreau is a smart goaltender, showing good play-reading ability. As an underage, he could overslide and be too erratic at times in net, but late in the season and into the U18s, he looked poised. He's not an explosive lateral goalie, but he can make tough saves and get to "hard-to-reach" pucks." -*Corey Pronman, The Athletic*

European Goalies

1. Jesper Wallstedt, G (Lulea - SWE)
2. Aleksei Kolosov, G (Minsk - RUS)
- "Kolosov is a second-year eligible prospect… He's a very quick goalie, showing the quick twitch in his lower body to maneuver around the crease easily. He can make the tough save, but doesn't lose control while moving quickly, making good reads. He also moves efficiently and squares up pucks. The long-range shot beats him a tad too much which is something that's alarming as an undersized goalie." -*Corey Pronman, The Athletic*
