The Blackhawks are expected to ice a few more NHL-experienced players tonight than they did in their first preseason game on Tuesday.
Chicago is 0-1-0 in preseason action following that trip to Columbus in which Alexandre Fortin was their lone goal scorer in a 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. 2017 first-round pick Henri Jokiharju led the team in ice time with more than 23 minutes and was "excellent" according to his head coach. Cam Ward stopped 13 of 15 shots he faced in his debut.
The Red Wings won their first preseason game by a score of 3-2 in overtime against the Pittsburgh Penguins last night.
Trevor Hamilton and Jussi Jokinen were the goal-scorers for Detroit in regulation, while Michael Rasmussen buried the winner in OT.
