PRESEASON FACEOFF

Chicago heads into the second game of their back-to-back preseason set looking to bounce back after a 2-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night. Despite a prospect-heavy lineup featuring preseason debuts from Lukas Reichel, Landon Slaggert, and Cole Guttman, Chicago was unable to capitalize on their chances. Arvid Soderblom was solid in net, making 31 saves to keep the score close. Detroit native Frank Nazar made his Blackhawks preseason debut in front of his hometown crowd, leading all players with five shots on goal. Despite a strong effort, the team couldn’t break through offensively.

Tonight's matchup against the Blues marks the first of two preseason meetings between these division rivals, with the second scheduled for next Saturday in Milwaukee. The game will feature a first look at offseason additions Ilya Mikheyev and Pat Maroon, as well as the first preseason action for Philipp Kurashev, Andreas Athanasiou, and Ethan Del Mastro. Frank Nazar, Zach Sanford, Kevin Korchinski, Isaak Phillips, and Nolan Allan are all set to play in back-to-back games, with Nazar and Korchinski having suited up in every preseason game so far.
