Over the weekend, three Chicago Blackhawk prospects kicked off the WHL Championship series with the Seattle Thunderbirds as they took on the Winnipeg ICE. Kevin Korchinski, Nolan Allan and Colton Dach helped with the team as they tied the series at 1-1 between the two games.

On Friday night, Winnipeg started the scoring frenzy as they took a 3-0 lead heading into the third period. With 28 seconds into the third, the Thunderbirds scored their first goal of the night to keep themselves in the game.

Korchinski would cut Winnipeg's lead by one with his goal with two minutes left in the game. However, it wouldn't be enough to help the team win as they fell 3-2 and were down 0-1 series for the first time in this year's playoffs.

Heading into Saturday night, the Thunderbirds looked to secure their first win before heading back to Washington. Winnipeg once again put themselves on the board first, but Seattle would take the lead back going into the third period with a score of, 3-1.

The Thunderbirds came out victorious after finishing the game with a 4-2 final. Allan would snap his four-game pointless streak after recording an assist on the team's fourth goal of the night. As for Dach, he finished both games as a -2 and put on three shots on goal.

The Thunderbirds will head back to Washington and look to move ahead of the series on Tuesday, May 16 with a 9:05 p.m. CT puck drop.
