As the Canadian junior playoffs continue to heat up, five out of the seven Blackhawks prospects advanced to the second round of the tournament with their respective teams. For the Rockford IceHogs, they secured a win over Central Division rival, the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday night.

JUNIORS ADVANCED

For Colton Dach, Nolan Allan and Kevin Korchinski on the Seattle Thunderbirds, the three were the first players out of the Blackhawks prospects to advance into the second round of the playoffs. The team will prepare to face the Prince George Cougars on Friday night to start things off after Korchinski was named

Ethan Del Mastro and the Sarnia Sting secured their second round spot after a defeating the Guelph Storm in six games on Sunday night. Through the six contests, the defenseman posted five assists in the first round. The Sting will face the Saginaw Spirit on Friday night.

Over in the QMJHL, Samuel Savoie and the Olympiques de Gatineau beat the Saint John Sea Dogs in five games. The forward notched three points (1G, 2A) to help the team move on as they face the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Friday.

As for Gavin Hayes (Flint Firebirds) and Jalen Luypen (Tri-City Americans), their respective teams were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Hayes recorded two assists through seven playoff games and Luypen posted six points (3G, 3A) through six games.

PHILP PRODUCED FIRST HAT TRICK

With the Rockford IceHogs, Luke Philp scored his first AHL hat trick on Tuesday night after a crucial 6-3 win over the Chicago Wolves. With the three goals, he extended his point streak to four straight games with seven points (5G, 2A).

Brett Seney continues to produce as he reached his 52nd point of the season. Over his last four contests, he notched four points with three goals and one assist.
Arvid Soderblom recorded another victory under his belt for his 13th win of the season. He has won three out of his last four starts.
