PROSPECTS: Three Prospects Advance to Frozen Four

Three Chicago Blackhawks prospects will represent their respective college next weekend as they advanced to the Frozen Four round of the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Out of the seven prospects who made the tournament, two were eliminated in the first round of the tournament while two others fell in the second round in an attempt to reach the quarterfinals.

F Frank Nazar, Michigan

On Friday, Frank Nazar produced two points (1G, 1A) in Michigan's record setting 11-1 win against Colgate to adance to the second round of the tournament. In the second period, the forward's rebound goal put the team up at 5-0 to push their lead further.

Against Penn State on Sunday evening, the Wolverines sent the game into overtime with a 2-1 win over the Nittany Lions. Following the team's advancement to the Frozen Four, Nazar produced one shot on goal and won 41.6 percent (5-12) on faceoffs.
The 2022 first round draft pick and Michigan will go against Quinnipiac on April 6 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

G Drew Commesso, Boston U.

Drew Commesso made back-to-back starts for the Terriers over the weekend to help his team advance to the next round. In the team's opening win against Western Michigan, he made a total of 24 saves off 25 shots faced.
In the second round of the contest, the 6-foot-2 goaltender made 13 saves off 14 shots faced. Throughout this season, Commesso held opponents to a 2.41 GAA and made two shutout starts.

F Ryan Greene, Boston U.

In both games between Western Michigan and Cornell, Greene recorded one shot on goal and won 36 percent (9-25) of face offs.
The two prospects will go head-to-head with Minnesota on April 6 to kick off the tournament with a 5 pm start that will be aired on ESPN2.

F Jake Wise, Ohio State

With the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jake Wise and his line produced a total of 10 points in the team's 8-1 win over Harvard on Friday. The captain finished the night off four assists to help lead the team to their next opponent of Quinnipiac on Sunday night.

In an effort to try and reach the Frozen Four, the Buckeyes struggled to catch up to the Bobcats as they were outscored 4-1. Wise produced four shots on goal and ended the night as a minus-two.

G Dominic Basse, St. Cloud State

In both of the team's tournament appearance, Dominic Basse backed up the team's starting goaltender Jaxon Castor. St Cloud advanced past the first round after a 4-0 win against Minnesota State. However, they would fall to Minnesota on Saturday night with a result of 4-1.
The junior goaltender appeared in 19 games this season with 11 wins under his belt. He held opponents with a 2.30 GAA and made three shutout performances.

F Aidan Thompson, Denver

Aidan Thompson and Denver suffered a first round loss in the tournament against Cornell on Thursday with a result of 2-0. Thompson made three shots on goal and won 45.8 percent (11-24) on face offs.

D Slava Demin, Merrimack

In Merrimack's 5-0 loss against Quinnipiac on Friday, Slava Demin produced one shot on goal, one block and ended as a minus-three.
