Artem Anisimov finished off a nice breakaway move to put Chicago ahead 2-0 at 18:26 of the opening frame. Dominik Kahun and Kane recorded the helpers.

The end of the first period brought great joy to the Blackhawks fans in attendance, while the start of the second brought dismay.
The tide turned early in the second when Buffalo scored three goals in the first 6:45 to take a 3-2 lead. Vladimir Sobotka, Brandon Montour and Zach Bogosian were the goal-scorers in a span of 3:29, with Bogosian's coming shorthanded.
At 4:48 of the third period, Anisimov buried his second goal of the game to tie things up at 3-3.
The back-and-forth scoring continued with Buffalo's Kyle Okposo putting the visitors back up 4-3.
Chicago's Brendan Perlini continued his strong game when he scored his eighth of the season at 7:57 of the final frame to tie things up at 4-4.
In the shootout, Toews scored first with a nice move that put goalie Carter Hutton out of position. Jack Eichel beat Corey Crawford at the other end to tie it. Kane sniped one as the second shooter for Chicago to put them up 2-1 in the skills competition. Buffalo's Sam Reinhart was then denied by Crawford. DeBrincat then buried the game-winner.
MOVING ON UP:With his two-point first period, Kane tied and then surpassed Steve Larmer to take sole possession of fourth all-time in points in Blackhawks franchise history. Kane now has 40 goals and 56 assists for 96 points in what has been a remarkable season for the star forward.
