THEY SAID IT

  • "Getting off to a terrible start, I think we just played really slow. We were turning pucks back (over) and they kept coming at us, so it's kind of a bad combination. We started to play a little bit faster at times in the second and the start of the third. I think Dickinson's line really tried to show us the way to play, right? And when it's bouncing against, you have to simplify it, slash and support and just advance the puck and just play in the other team's zone. And we just couldn't figure that out quick enough." Head coach Luke Richardson on loss to Columbus
  • "I think you tell them it's not alright to lose, right? That's the biggest thing. And they're not comfortable losing either, and I don't think that's it, but I think you just got to learn how to play the game, learn how to play an [82]-game season and and keep playing positive because at the end of the day, there's so many things you can learn throughout the entire season but if you're negative it's really hard to harp on those things and grow as a team. I think these young guys are hungry. They don't like losing, and that's a good thing, but I think that's the biggest thing I take away from it. I think that's a bright spot of the future is sick of losing these guys are and I'm happy to be part of that and hopefully we can grow from it." - Ryan Donato on not letting losing streak have negative affect on younger players.
  • "He worked really hard and he got a lot of pucks back on the forecheck. We couldn't create on that tonight, [but] hopefully we can keep it up." - Philipp Kurashev on Ryan Donato's impact joining the top line.
