GAME RECAP

CHI: 1, SEA: 0

2nd - 12:06 - Dominik Kubalik (Erik Gustafsson)

The transition game proved key in Seattle for the fourth time in five periods for the Blackhawks as Erik Gustafsson and Dominik Kubalik combined for a quick strike moving the other way. Gustafsson made a diving break up of an odd-man rush in his own slot, popped up and then quickly hit a streaking Kubalik turning back up the ice in the neutral zone. The winger skated all alone from the blue line in, tucking a low shot past Philipp Grubauer for a 1-0 Chicago lead.

2nd - 15:01 - Vince Dunn (Riley Sheahan, Adam Larsson)

Seattle answered a short time later as Vince Dunn netted his fourth of the season. The blueliner put a wrister from the point towards goal through traffic, where the puck deflected off the hip of Riley Stillman in front, rang off the crossbar and straight down into the cage for a 1-1 equalizer.

2nd - 17:06 - Brandon Hagel (Dominik Kubalik, Patrick Kane) -- PP

The Blackhawks jumped back in front just two minutes later on the man advantage courtesy of a net-drive by Dominik Kubalik and Brandon Hagel. Off a quick zone entry, Patrick Kane took a pass from Alex DeBrincat along the half wall and surveyed the scene before sliding a pass to Kubalik in front. Kubalik tried to redirect the pass home and followed up his own rebound for a quick second chance to no avail, but the second attempt popped out to the side of the goal for a crashing Hagel, who found the open cage for a 2-1 lead.

3rd - Ryan Donato

Seattle found twine in transition of their own early in the third to pull back level. Coming in with speed on a 2-on-1, Ryan Donato took a shot past a sprawled out Caleb Jones as the lone man back. Marc-Andre Fleury made the initial stop, but as Jones slid on the fresh ice early in the period, he ran into the Blackhawks netminder, knocking him out of position for Donato's attempt on his own rebound, a shot he put into the open net for a 2-2 score.
