RELEASE: Blackhawks Make Qualifying Offers to Hagel, Nylander and Zadorov
A native of Braintree, Massachusetts, Gaudette recorded four points (1G, 3A) in seven games with Chicago after being acquired by the Blackhawks from the Vancouver Canucks on April 12, 2021. The 24-year-old had four goals and three helpers in 33 games with the Canucks prior to the deal.
Gaudette posted career highs in games played (59), goals (12), assists (21) and points (33) during the 2019-20 campaign. He also skated in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games during the 2020 postseason. In 153 career regular-season games with Vancouver, Gaudette had 52 points (21G, 31A).
A fifth-round pick (149th overall) of the Canucks during the 2015 National Hockey League Draft, Gaudette won the 2018 Hobey Baker Award with Northeastern University after leading the NCAA in goals (30), points (60) and points per game (1.62) during the 2017-18 campaign. He became the first player from Northeastern to win the award as the best player in NCAA Division I hockey. He also won the Hockey East Player of the Year and was named to the NCAA East First All-American Team that season. Spanning three seasons (2015-18) with the Huskies, Gaudette finished his collegiate career with 142 points (68G, 74A) in 116 games.
