The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Josiah Slavin (SLAY-vihn) on a two-year entry-level contract that runs through the 2022-23 season ($842,500 salary cap hit). He will begin his professional career by reporting immediately to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League on an ATO.

Drafted by the Blackhawks in the seventh round (193rd overall) of the 2018 National Hockey League Draft, Slavin led Colorado College with eight assists and 13 points this season. The Erie, Colorado native paced Tigers' freshman with 13 points (5G, 8A) during the 2019-20 campaign.
Prior to playing for Colorado College, Slavin spent the 2018-19 season with the Lincoln Stars and Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League. He recorded 20 points (14G, 6A) in 27 games with the Steel and notched eight points (4G, 4A) in 11 playoff games in leading Chicago to the Clark Cup finals.
Slavin is the brother of Carolina Hurricanes' defenseman Jaccob Slavin. His sister, Jordan, played hockey at the University of North Dakota.
