RELEASE: Blackhawks Agree to Terms with Kurashev

The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that the team has received a salary arbitration decision for forward Philipp Kurashev (KUHR-uh-shehv) on a two-year contract that runs through the 2024-25 season ($2,250,000 salary cap hit).

Kurashev, 23, finished the 2022-23 season with career highs in games played (70), goals (9), assists (16) and points (25). The forward also shared third on the team with two game-winning goals.

At 6-foot and 190 pounds, Kurashev has compiled 62 points (23G, 39A) in 191 career NHL regular-season games with the Blackhawks (2020-23). Since entering the league in 2020-21, Kurashev's 191 games played are the most among all Blackhawks skaters. Additionally, Kurashev has dressed in 42 American Hockey League games with the Rockford IceHogs from 2019-22, totaling 22 points (9G, 13A).

Internationally, Kurashev has represented Switzerland three times at the IIHF World Championships (2019, 2021, 2022), recording recording 13 points (3G, 10A) in 24 games. At the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship, Kurashev was named to the tournament's All-Star Team after leading all skaters with six goals in seven games.

Kurashev was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the fourth round (120th overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft.
