The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have re-assigned goaltender Kevin Lankinen (LAHNK-ih-nehn) to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Lankinen was recalled by the Blackhawks on April 5 but did not appear in a game. The 23-year-old has recorded a 7-7-4 mark with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 18 appearances with the IceHogs this season.
Signed by Chicago on May 21, 2018, Lankinen posted career-best marks in GAA (1.33) and SV% (.946) in 15 games with HIFK of the Finnish Elite League during the 2017-18 season. He also appeared in 13 postseason contests with a 1.99 GAA and a .936 SV%, helping his club to a Liiga bronze medal.
