After Tyler Johnson tied the game late in the third period, the Blackhawks fought for a full 65 minutes before collecting both points in a shootout victory.
The forward also netted the shootout goal, the only one to go in from either team, to seal the victory before the Blackhawks head on the road for four games.
"[Max Domi] won the draw there, and then [Patrick Kane] just found me in the slot there," Johnson said. "You kind of dream about those shots. Those are those are the ones you always want to hit."

GOAL GUTTMAN

Cole Guttman tallied another goal, his second in consecutive games. He now has two goals in five games in the NHL, and is the first Blackhawks rookie to tally goals in back-to-back games since Taylor Raddysh.
"I love playing with [Guttman], he's a he's a high energy guy," Johnson said. "I think he's gotten better every single game and he's a guy that, likes to learn. I think our chemistry between [Raddysh], him and I [is] building every game, we're learning from each other. And that's all you could really ask for. So it's been a lot of fun playing with him."

POWER PLAY VICTORY

The Blackhawks netted their first power-play goal since Jan. 28 from Johnson, off assists from Max Domi and Patrick Kane. The special teams units are something that the team has been working on, said head coach Luke Richardson.
"I thought our power play, the first time tonight, both units had some good looks and did a good job," Richardson said. "So I think just after talking about it a little bit more yesterday and going through all the routes for our breakouts and entries and then just moving a little bit crisper, I think that probably gave us some confidence on the second one to score that goal."

KANER CONTINUES

With an assist tonight, Kane is now on a three-game point streak. He is now at 42 points on the season in 52 games, helping to set the tone for the team's recent wins.
"I think when [the team is] playing well, let's keep playing," Richardson said. "I think the guys are feeling it, and Kane said [in the locker room after the win] 'our record right now is not indicative of how we're playing and, and how we've stuck together all year as a team and it's a good feeling,' Let's enjoy it and just keep pushing."
