The Blackhawks agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract with forward
Andrei Altybarmakyan
on Thursday. The deal with the Blackhawks' third-round (70th overall) selection in the 2017 NHL Draft will run through the 2021-23 season and carry an AAV of $817,500.
Here are three things to know about Andrei Altybarmakyan:

PLAYING AT HOME

After starting his career in the MHL, a junior hockey league in Russia, the native of St. Petersburg, Russia, has played the last three seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League.
With HK Sochi of the KHL and HK Tambov of the VHL, Altybarmakyan had career highs of six goals, 11 assists and 17 points in 49 games played in 2019-20.
During the '18-19 season, Altybarmakyan appeared in games for HK Sochi, SKA-Neva St. Petersburg of the VHL and SKA-1946 St. Petersburg of the MHL.
During 2016-17, Altybarmakyan was selected to play in both the KHL All-Star Game and MHL All-Star Game.

INTERNATIONAL PLAY

The 21-year-old Altybarmakyan, a left-handed shooter, has represented his country internationally, including during the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo. Altybarmakyan had one goal and two assists in five games with Team Russia in the tournament.

FAMILY TIES

Altybarmakyan's younger brother, Ilya, is also a forward who played for SKA-1946 St. Petersburg of the MHL in 2019-20.
