The Blackhawks agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with forward Michal Teply on Friday. The deal with the Blackhawks' fourth-round (105th overall) selection in the 2019 NHL Draft will run through the 2022-23 season and carry an AAV of $825,833.

ICE IN HIS VEINS

In his first season playing in North America, the 18-year-old Teply flashed his offensive skills by finishing second in scoring for the Winnipeg Ice of the WHL. Teply had a team-high 29 goals - 12 on the power play - and added 34 assists for 63 points. Teply also led the Ice with eight game-winning goals.

The teenager was named the WHL's Rookie of the Month for a January effort during which Teply had seven goals and seven assists in nine games.

Winnipeg selected Teply with the fourth-overall pick in the 2019 CHL Import Draft.

WORLDWIDE TALENT

Teply turned heads with a strong showing for Team Czech Republic in the 2020 World Junior Championships. The winger led the host country in scoring with five assists in five games.

Teply also represented the Czech Republic at the 2019 U18 World Championships and recorded three assists in five games.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Since being drafted by the Blackhawks, Teply has been active with the organization, including attending the 2019 Development Camp at Fifth Third Arena.

Teply was also a member of the Blackhawks squad that participated in the 2019 NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Mich.
