The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Nick Foligno (foe-LEE-no) on a one-year contract that runs through the 2023-24 season ($4,000,000 salary cap hit).
Foligno, 35, dressed in 60 games with the Boston Bruins during the 2022-23 season, tallying 26 points (10G, 16A). He also posted three points (1G, 2A) in six Stanley Cup Playoff contests with Boston this past season. On March 15, 2022, Foligno appeared in his 1,000th career NHL game when the Bruins faced off against the Blackhawks at the United Center.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Foligno has totaled 525 points (215G, 310A) in 1,081 career NHL regular-season games with the Ottawa Senators (2007-12), Columbus Blue Jackets (2012-21), Toronto Maple Leafs (2021) and Bruins (2021-23). He has also suited up in 68 career postseason games, registering 27 points (10G, 17A).
The 6-foot, 210-pound forward was originally drafted by the Senators in the first round (28th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft.
