TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

The Blackhawks are 16-4-2 in their last 22 games against Buffalo since 2010-11. Chicago is also 11-2-0 in their last 13 games against Buffalo at the United Center since 2007-08. A former Sabre, Taylor Hall posted 19 points (2G, 17A) in 37 games with Buffalo during the 2020-21 season. During their last meeting at the United Center on Nov. 19, 2023, Philipp Kurashev posted two assists. Connor Bedard, Nick Foligno and Lukas Reichel each tallied an assist during a 3-2 loss to the Sabres.

Four different Blackhawks’ skaters found the back of the net during a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks during Thursday’s home opener at the United Center. Connor Bedard and Teuvo Teravainen each posted two assists. Nick Foligno scored the game-winning goal on the power play. Tyler Bertuzzi scored his first goal
as a Blackhawk. Jason Dickinson and Taylor Hall each scored once. Joey Anderson added an assist for his first point of the season. Lukas Reichel skated in his 100th career NHL game. Petr Mrazek made 20 saves on 22 shots for his second victory of the season.

Forward Connor Bedard notched two assists against San Jose for his 15th career multi-point game, tying Jeremy Roenick and Bobby Hull for third most by a Blackhawks teenager. He trails Eddie Olczyk (29 GP) and Patrick Kane (24 GP). He is also the fourth Blackhawks teenager team history to record multiple points in a home-opener, joining Henri Jokiharju (3A on Oct. 7, 2018), Denis Savard (3A on Oct. 9, 1980) and Stan Mikita (1G, 1A on Oct. 7, 1959).

BETTER CALL HALL

Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall scored his first goal of the season on Thursday and now has 32 points (15G, 17A) in 35 career games against the Sharks. He now has 699 career NHL points (267G, 432A) and would become the second skater from the 2010 NHL Draft to hit 700 points, joining Tyler Seguin (791). Hall also led all Blackhawks skaters with three blocked shots against San Jose.

LIL UZZI BERT

On Thursday, Chicago forward Tyler Bertuzzi scored his first goal as a Blackhawk and is now the only active player to score a goal for four Original Six clubs. With the goal, Bertuzzi now has 13 points (5G, 8A) in 12 career games against San Jose.
