2:05 p.m. CT:Thanks for following along, Blue Jackets fans! The draft is in the books and Columbus took eight selections, ranging from No. 3 overall to Mr. Irrelevant.
The Blue Jackets chose six forwards, one defenseman and a goaltender. Just two of the picks were European, with the other six from North America. Two hail from the University of Michigan, two played with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, two others were Canadian junior players and the two Europeans played in the junior ranks across the Atlantic.
Many of those standouts will be in Columbus for the team's annual development camp, which begins Saturday. See you then!
2:01 p.m. CT: The Blue Jackets snuck one last move in under the wire at the 2023 draft, trading a seventh-round draft pick next season to Vegas for the last pick in this year's draft.
With the No. 224 overall pick, the Blue Jackets chose Canadian wing Tyler Peddle of Drummondville of the QMJHL. He's coming off a season in which he posted a 24-17-41 line in 64 games in his second season with the Voltigeurs.
A native of Nova Scotia, Peddle was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 QMJHL draft and previously played at noted prep powerhouse Shattuck St. Mary's.

1:45 p.m. CT:Welcome, Oiva Keskinen! The Blue Jackets have selected the Finnish center with the No. 194 overall pick (seventh round) in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Keskinen stands at 6-0, 180 pounds, and played 38 games for the U-20 team with Tappara, posting stats of 20-21-41.
12:11 p.m. CT:Welcome, Melvin Strahl! The Blue Jackets have selected the Swedish goalie with the No. 156 overall pick (fifth round) in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Strahl stands at 6-3, 165 pounds, and played 23 games for the MoDo U-20 team this past season with a goals-against average of 3.35 and a save percentage of .883. The Solleftea, Sweden, native has been in the MoDo system the past two seasons, also playing for the U-18 squad this past year.

12:11 p.m. CT:Welcome, Luca Pinelli! The Blue Jackets have selected the Canadian center with the No. 114 overall pick (fourth round) in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Pinelli stands at 5-9, 165 pounds, and played 67 games for the Ottawa 67's (OHL) this past year with stats of 29-34-63.
Pinelli is the type of player who constantly has energy and gives everything he has when on the ice. The Stoney Creek, Ontario, native has pace and is not afraid to get physical against defenders. He reads the game well and is willing to do the work on the defensive end.
His brother, Francesco, was a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2021.

12:01 p.m. CT:Welcome, Andrew Strathmann! The Blue Jackets have selected the Youngstown (USHL) defenseman with the No. 98 overall pick (fourth round) in the 2023 NHL Draft. He is the second Phantoms player in a row taken by the team.
Strathmann stands at 5-10, 187 pounds, and played 56 games for the Phantoms with stats of 3-35-38 and 102 penalty minutes.
Along with being a strong defender, Strathmann is great at finding pockets of space to make dangerous plays against his opponents. He also was a part of winning the USHL Clark Cup championship this past season with the Phantoms.
The Illinois native is also committed to playing hockey at the Univeristy of North Dakota.

11:15 a.m. CT:Welcome, William Whitelaw! The Blue Jackets have selected the Youngstown (USHL) right wing with the No. 66 overall pick (third round) in the 2023 NHL Draft.
The Minnesota native stands at 5-9, 173 pounds, and played 62 games for the Phantoms with stats of 36-25-61.
Whitelaw is able to do it all on offense. He is a finisher and is able to adapt to find the net in any way possible. He also does very well with distributing the puck and setting up his teammates. An undersized forward, he compares his game to such players as Brad Marchand and Cole Caufield.
He helped the Phantoms clinch the USHL Clark Cup championship this past season and was teammates with 2022 CBJ pick James Fisher. He is also committed to playing hockey at the Univeristy of Wisconsin for the 2023-24 season.

10:40 a.m. CT:Welcome, Gavin Brindley! The Blue Jackets have selected the University of Michigan center with the No. 34 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Brindley (5-8, 168) is a player who is always moving and creating scoring chances for his team. A Florida native, he set the Big Ten tournament record for most assists in a single tournament (seven) and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten player after posting a 12-26-38 line in 41 games. He also played in the 2023 World Junior Championship, earning the bronze medal for the USA.
We shall see, with the draft set to kick off at 11 a.m. Eastern time and 10 a.m. here in Nashville. Today will bring rounds two through seven, with Columbus entering holding the No. 34 overall pick (the second pick in the second round) as well as choices in the third (96th), fourth (98th and 114th), fifth (156th) and seventh (194th) rounds.
Of course, trades can happen throughout the day, and they might be set to pop off today after a relatively rare occurrence last night -- there were no deals in the first round of the draft for the first time in more than a decade.
Stay tuned as we'll keep you updated on the players the Blue Jackets take and moves they make. Journalism intern Caitlin Foley will be here to help, as well.
