COLUMBUS, OHIO ---The Columbus Blue Jackets will be without right wing Cam Atkinson and center Alex Wennberg for the next several weeks due to injuries suffered in games last week, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Wennberg suffered a back injury on December 21 at Pittsburgh, while Atkinson suffered a fractured foot on December 23 vs. Philadelphia. Both players are expected to be sidelined four to six weeks.
Atkinson, who has led the Blue Jackets in scoring in each of the past two seasons, has recorded six goals and seven assists for 13 points with 10 penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating 32 games in 2017-18. A year ago, he made his All-Star Game debut and tallied a career-high 35-27-62, 22 penalty minutes and was +13 in 82 games.
