The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Markus Hannikainen off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced tonight.
Hannikainen, 25, has missed the past five games due to an illness. He has set career highs with four goals and three assists for seven points with two penalty minutes in 42 games with the Blue Jackets this season. The 6-1, 200-pound left wing has recorded 8-7-15 and 14 penalty minutes in 89 career NHL games since making his debut with Columbus in 2015-16. The Helsinki, Finland native was signed by the Jackets as a free agent on Apr. 20, 2015.
