Blue Jackets announce roster moves

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed center Lukas Sedlak on Injured Reserve and added left wing Markus Hannikainen to the roster on emergency recall as well as recalled goaltender Joonas Korpisalo from the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The Jackets have also assigned goaltender Anton Forsberg to the club's AHL affiliate.
Sedlak, 23, was placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to February 17 and is day-to-day after suffering an oblique strain vs. the Penguins. He has posted six goals and six assists for 12 points with 23 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating in 55 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He made his NHL debut on October 21 vs. Chicago, picked up his first NHL point (assist) on October 27 at San Jose and notched his first NHL goal on December 9 at Detroit. Last season, he posted 14-4-18 in 54 regular season games with the Monsters before adding 9-7-16 in 17 postseason games to help the club capture the Calder Cup. Columbus' sixth round pick, 158th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, he has tallied 28-20-48 with 83 penalty minutes in 159 career AHL games.

Hannikainen, 23, has posted 1-0-1 and two penalty minutes in seven games with the Blue Jackets this season, including notching his first NHL goal on January 21 vs. Carolina. He has also recorded 12-8-20 with 16 penalty minutes in 36 games with Cleveland. The Helsinki, Finland native has registered 1-0-1 with two penalty minutes in 11 career NHL games since making his debut in 2015-16. Originally signed to a two-year, entry level contract with Columbus on April 20, 2015, Hannikainen has also notched 19-21-40 with 36 penalty minutes in 86 career AHL games with the Monsters and tallied 3-7-10 in 16 playoff games to help the club capture the 2016 Calder Cup.
Korpisalo, 22, is 4-1-0 with a 3.26 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in six games with the Blue Jackets this season. He is also 7-6-3 with a 2.69 goals-against average and .907 save percentage with the Monsters. The Pori, Finland native made his NHL debut in 2015-16, going 16-11-4 with a 2.60 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in 31 contests. Selected by Columbus in the third round, 62nd overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, he has registered a 15-16-5 mark with a 2.57 GAA, .908 SV% and two SO in 37 career AHL games with Lake Erie/Cleveland over the past two seasons. Korpisalo also went 6-2 with a 2.96 GAA and .898 SV% in nine playoff games a year ago to help the Monsters capture the Calder Cup championship.
Forsberg, 24, is 15-12-2 with a 2.18 goals-against average, .929 save percentage and two shutouts in 31 games with the Monsters this season. The Härnösand, Sweden native owns a 61-30-8 record with a 2.17 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and seven shutouts in 106 career AHL games with the Monsters and Springfield Falcons. He led the Monsters to the 2016 AHL Calder Cup after finishing with a 9-0-0 record, 1.34 GAA, .949 SV% and two shutouts in 10 contests. Columbus' seventh round selection, 188th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, he has posted a 1-8-0 record with a 4.02 goals-against and .879 save percentage in 10 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including stopping 27-of-31 shots in a 5-3 loss at Carolina in his season debut on January 10.
