The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned 10 players to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The training camp roster now stands at 28 players, including 16 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.
The Blue Jackets assigned forwards Paul Bittner, Zac Dalpe, Nathan Gerbe, Markus Hannikainen, Nikita Korostelev, Kole Sherwood and Kevin Stenlund to the Monsters. Columbus also assigned defensemen Gabriel Carlsson and Anton Karlsson and goaltender Veini Vehvilainen to the AHL team.
Columbus, 2-2-1 in preseason play, returns to action on Friday when it hosts the New Jersey Devils. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on BlueJackets.com, the FOX Sports Go app and Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan.
