The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman Gabriel Carlsson to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Carlsson, 21, did not see action since being recalled on November 16. He suited up in the 2018-19 season opener at Detroit on October 4, recording one shot and two penalty minutes in 9:21 of ice time. He has registered three assists and six penalty minutes in 17 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2016-17 campaign. In 2017-18, he collected 0-2-2, four penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating in 14 appearances with the team.
