The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Andrew Peeke on Injured Reserve and have added defenseman Gabriel Carlsson to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Peeke, 21, suffered a broken finger in Tuesday's game at Detroit and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks. He has collected an assist with two penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating in seven games this season. He made his NHL debut on December 5 vs. the NY Rangers and collected his first NHL point with an assist on December 16 vs. Washington. The 6-3, 194-pound defenseman has added 5-7-12 with four penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating in 21 games with Cleveland in 2019-20.

The Parkland, Florida native registered 12-40-52, 62 penalty minutes and a +20 plus/minus rating in 119 career games at the University of Notre Dame (Big Ten) from 2016-19. He was selected by Columbus in the second round, 34th overall, at the 2016 NHL Draft.
Carlsson, 22, has registered 0-3-3 and six penalty minutes in 17 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets since making his league debut at the end of the 2016-17 campaign. He skated in the 2018-19 season opener on October 4 at Detroit.
A native of Orebro, Sweden, Carlsson has also tallied 5-22-27, 40 penalty minutes and a +6 plus/minus rating in 131 career AHL outings with the Monsters. He has notched 1-8-9, 10 penalty minutes and is +6 in 28 contests with the team this season, ranking third-T on the club in plus/minus and second and third among club defensemen in assists and points, respectively. The 6-5, 192-pound blueliner was selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, 29th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Los Angeles Kings. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Ohio and the FOX Sports Go app. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with the "Blue Jackets Live" pre-game show.
