The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky from the Cleveland Monsters, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, and assigned right wing Emil Bemstrom to Cleveland after clearing waivers, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Fix-Wolansky, 24, has registered two goals and one assist for three points with 24 shots on goal in 15 career appearances with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. He recorded 1-0-1 with 11 hits and 19 shots on goal, while averaging 12:56 of ice time in nine games with the team in 2022-23.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Fix-Wolansky has added 64-91-155 with 141 penalty minutes, 22 power play goals and 529 shots on goal in 177 career AHL regular season games with the Cleveland Monsters since making his pro debut in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. The 5-7, 191-pound winger leads the AHL in points-per-game (1.45; min. 7 GP) and ranks second-T in assists and fifth in points with 4-12-16, eight penalty minutes and 29 shots on goal in 11 games with the Monsters in 2023-24. He was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
Bemstrom, 24, has recorded 29-33-62 with 22 penalty minutes, 12 power play goals and 302 shots on goal, while averaging 12:00 of ice time in 184 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2019-20. He has posted 3-1-4 with four penalty minutes, three power play goals and 20 shots on goal in 12 contests with Columbus in 2023-24.
The 6-0, 195-pound native of Nykoping, Sweden has added 16-17-33, six PIM, nine PPG and 83 shots on goal in 25 career AHL games with the Monsters. He was selected by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round, 117th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
