The Blue Jackets enter the final weekend of the preseason with a plan in place.
Tonight in St. Louis, the team has called up seven forwards and a defenseman from AHL Cleveland with the hopes of getting one more look at a few players, but the result is it will be a largely young lineup in place tonight when Columbus takes on the Blues.
Tyler Sikura, Josh Dunne, Brendan Gaunce, Tyler Angle, Carson Meyer, Tristan Mullin, Justin Scott and Gavin Bayreuther all have been summoned from Cleveland for the game, and up front they will join Kevin Stenlund, Gregory Hofmann, Justin Danforth, Liam Foudy and Emil Bemstrom from the NHL roster to take on the Blues.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side, Andrew Peeke, Scott Harrington, Mikko Lehtonen, Dean Kukan and Gabriel Carlsson have been battling to carve out their roles on the CBJ blue line, and all will get a chance to show their stuff against the Blues.
The game will be broadcast on BlueJackets.com and 97.1 The Fan and will conclude the road portion of the CBJ exhibition schedule. Columbus likely will field an NHL-caliber roster in the final tuneup, scheduled for Saturday night at 7 p.m. against Pittsburgh in Nationwide Arena.
