Today's preseason game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues, scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at Nationwide Arena, has been cancelled due to an issue with the Blues chartered aircraft that will prevent the team from traveling to Columbus.
Single game buyers with tickets to today's scheduled final preseason game will receive a refund. Blue Jackets season ticket holders will receive additional tickets to a 2019-20 regular season home game. Complete details are being finalized and the club will communicate directly to affected season ticket holders.
"We regret the inconvenience the cancellation of today's game will cause our fans, but after discussions with the Blues there was no viable option that would've resulted in our being able to play the game today," said club president Mike Priest.
"Due to an unforeseen mechanical issue with our aircraft, we are unable to travel to Columbus for tonight's game. We apologize to the Blue Jackets and their fans for this inconvenience," said St. Louis President of Hockey Operations Doug Armstrong
The Blue Jackets open their 19th regular season vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday, October 4. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
