bobrovsky

Blue Jackets fans have long known Sergei Bobrovsky as the NHL's top cop, but now even NHL Network has come to the same conclusion. In its goaltending portion of positional rankings, the network gave "Bob" the nod Sunday night as the NHL's best netminder entering the 2018-19 season.

Bobrovsky posted a .921 save percentage and five shutouts last season, despite facing the highest volume of shots in his career. The past two seasons combined, Bobrovsky has posted a 5-on-5 high-danger save percentage of. 856, which is 18 points higher than any other goalie in the NHL during that stretch.

Bobrovsky is a two-time winner of the Vezina Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL's best goalie as chosen by the league's 31 general managers. Entering the last year of his contract, he's also come a long way since the summer of 2012, when the Blue Jackets acquired him from Philadelphia Flyers for three draft picks.
Bobrovsky is the Jackets' franchise leader in most career goaltending stats, including games played (312), wins (176), saves (8,590), save percentage (.923) and minutes played (18,247).

He's also going seventh season in Columbus, ninth in the NHL, looking to push those numbers even higher.
