Columbus Blue Jackets center Boone Jenner is expected to be sidelined between one to three weeks, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Jenner suffered a cut to his ankle when he blocked a shot in a game at Washington on January 12 and the laceration became infected following the team's practice this past Tuesday.
Jenner, 25, has tallied nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points with 20 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 48 games this season. He also leads the club in face-off wins with 377 and is second in face-off winning percentage at 52.4 percent. Selected by Columbus in the second round, 37th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft, the Dorchester, Ontario native has collected 95-87-182 with 245 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 390 career games with the club.
