The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated center Kevin Stenlund off Injured Reserve, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Stenlund, 24, suffered an upper body injury on January 26 vs. Florida and has missed the past four games. He has posted one goal and one assist for two points and a +2 plus/minus rating in two games with the Blue Jackets this season.
The Stockholm, Sweden native has recorded 7-5-12, 12 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating in 38 career games with Columbus since making his NHL debut in 2018-19, including 6-4-10 and eight penalty minutes in 32 games in 2019-20. He added 6-12-18 in 33 appearances with the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters during that campaign. The 6-4, 215-pound forward was Columbus' second, second round pick, 58th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday when they host the Dallas Stars. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Ohio and the FOX Sports Go app with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the "Blue Jackets Live" pre-game show. It will also be broadcast on the Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs Blue Jackets Radio Network, including WXZX 105.7 FM in Columbus.
