The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Justin Danforth off Injured Reserve and assigned forward Trey Fix-Wolansky to the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Danforth, 28, has missed the past 19 games with an MCL sprain in his left knee suffered on December 30 vs. Nashville. He has registered two goals and two assists for four points with 21 shots and 30 hits in 13 games with the Blue Jackets this season. The 5-8, 188-pound forward made his NHL debut on November 15 vs. Detroit and notched his first career goal a game later on November 18 at Arizona (Scott Wedgewood).
The Oshawa, Ontario native was signed by the Blue Jackets to a one-year contract on May 3, 2021. He has notched 6-6-12 and 16 penalty minutes in 29 career AHL games with the Monsters, Rochester Americans and Bridgeport Sound Tigers since making his pro debut in 2016-17, including 2-3-5 in eight games with Cleveland this season.
Fix-Wolansky, 22, who was recalled on February 7, has recorded 1-1-2 with four shots in five games with the Blue Jackets this season. He scored a goal in his NHL debut on February 8 at Washington (Pheonix Copley) and added his first career assist two days later at Buffalo.
The Edmonton, Alberta native has collected 9-8-17 with 15 penalty minutes, one power play goal, two game-winning goals and 60 shots in 22 contests with the Monsters this season. He has totaled 25-27-52 with 49 PIM, 10 PPG, six GWG and 174 shots in 74 regular season AHL appearances with the Monsters since making his professional debut in the 2019 Calder Cup playoffs. The 5-7, 186-pound forward was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Sunday, February 20 when they host the Buffalo Sabres. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 6 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on Bally Sports Ohio and streamed on the Bally Sports app. Coverage begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show at 5:30 p.m. ET.
