The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defensemen Jake Christiansen and David Jiricek and forwards Josh Dunne, Trey Fix-Wolansky and Carson Meyer to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Christiansen, 23, has collected three assists with four penalty minutes and 25 shots on goal in 23 appearances with the Blue Jackets in 2022-23, including registering his first career NHL assist vs. Montreal on November 17. He has recorded 1-3-4 with four penalty minutes and 29 shots on goal in 31 career outings since making his NHL debut with Columbus in 2021-22. The West Vancouver, British Columbia native has added 24-66-90 and 100 penalty minutes in 146 career AHL contests with the Monsters and Stockton Heat since making his pro debut in 2019-20. The 6-0, 193-pound blueliner has notched 8-22-30 with 53 penalty minutes and 141 shots in 47 games with the Monsters in 2022-23. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Columbus on Mar. 4, 2020.
Dunne, 24, has recorded eight penalty minutes and 10 shots on goal in 13 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2020-21, including registering four penalty minutes and three shots on goal in seven appearances this season. The O'Fallon, Missouri native has added 34-24-58 with 122 penalty minutes, 12 power play goals and 240 shots in 106 career AHL games over the past three seasons with the Monsters. The 6-4, 211-pound forward has set AHL career highs in 2022-23 with 20-17-37, 69 PIM and 158 shots in 62 appearances. He originally signed a two-year, entry level contract with the Blue Jackets on Mar. 14, 2021.
Fix-Wolansky, 23, has collected 1-1-2 with 20 shots on goal in 14 career appearances with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. He has recorded 15 shots on goal in eight games with Columbus in 2022-23. The Edmonton, Alberta native has totaled 60-78-138, 131 PIM, 22 PPG and 490 shots on goal in 163 career regular season games with the Monsters after making his pro debut during the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. He ranks third in the AHL in points per game and fifth in points in 2022-23 with 29-51-70 and 1.21 points per game in 58 contests. The 5-7, 191-pound winger was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
Jiricek, 19, has recorded four shots on goal, eight hits and five blocked shots in three games with the Blue Jackets in 2022-23. He became the second youngest defenseman to make his NHL debut in franchise history (Rostislav Klesla; 18 years, 200 days on Oct. 7, 2000 vs. Chicago) when he suited up against Boston on October 28 at 18 years, 334 days. The Klatovy, Czechia native, who was named to the 2023 AHL All-Star Game (did not play due to illness), leads AHL rookie defensemen in points per game and ranks second-T in assists and third in points and leads Monsters blueliners in assists, points and points game with 6-32-38 and .73 points per game in 52 contests in 2022-23. The 6-4, 199-pound blueliner was selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, sixth overall, at the 2022 NHL Draft.
Meyer, 25, has recorded 1-2-3 with 10 penalty minutes and 29 shots on goal in 26 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. He has collected four penalty minutes, 16 shots and 22 hits in 13 outings this season. The Powell, Ohio native has added 34-39-73 with 110 PIM, 12 power play goals and 278 shots in 114 career AHL contests with the Monsters since 2020-21. He has tallied 9-17-26 and 34 PIM in 31 appearances with Cleveland this season. The 5-11, 184-pound winger was selected by the Blue Jackets in the sixth round, 179th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
