Tarasov Editable Team Update

The Columbus Blue Jackets have added goaltender Daniil Tarasov to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Goaltender Elvis Merzlikins will be away from the team temporarily. His grandmother is seriously ill and he has returned to Latvia to be with family.

Tarasov, 23, has gone 2-9-1 with a 3.28 goals-against average (GAA) and .908 save percentage (SV%) in 13 contests with the Blue Jackets this season. The 6-5, 196-pound netminder has posted a 2-11-1 record with a 3.10 GAA and .914 SV% in 17 career games since making his NHL debut in 2021-22.
A native of Novokuznetsk, Russia, Tarasov is 13-10-3 with a 3.40 GAA and .887 SV% in 26 career games with the Monsters since making his North American pro debut at the end of the 2020-21 campaign. He has gone 4-5-0 with a 4.07 GAA and .871 SV% in nine appearances with the Monsters this season. He was selected by Columbus in the third round, 86th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
