Team Update

The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defenseman Jake Christiansen and right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Christiansen, 23, has registered one goal and two assists for three points with four penalty minutes and 25 shots in 26 career outings since making his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2021-22. He has collected 0-2-2, four penalty minutes and 21 shots in 18 appearances with the team in 2022-23. He made his Columbus season debut at the New York Islanders on November 12 and picked up his career first NHL assist vs. Montreal on November 17.
A native of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Christiansen has added 24-65-89 and 98 penalty minutes in 142 career AHL contests with the Monsters and Stockton Heat since making his pro debut in 2019-20. The 6-0, 193-pound defenseman has collected8-21-29 with 51 penalty minutes and 122 shots in 43 games with the Monsters in 2022-23. He leads team blueliners in goals and ranks second in assists and points. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Columbus on Mar. 4, 2020.
Fix-Wolansky, 23, has registered 1-1-2 with 11 shots in 10 career outings with the Blue Jackets since skating in his NHL debut in 2021-22. He has recorded six shots and five hits in four games with the team in 2022-23, making his club season debut vs. Florida on November 20.
The Edmonton, Alberta native has totaled 57-78-135, 127 PIM, 20 PPG and 468 shots in 158 career regular season games with the Monsters since making his pro debut in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. He ranks second in the AHL in points/game played (min. 25 GP), fourth in points, seventh in assists and eighth-T in goals in 2022-23 and leads the Monsters in goals, assists, points and points/game with 26-51-67 and 1.26 points/GP in 53 contests. The 5-7, 191-pound winger was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
