The Columbus Blue Jackets have reduced their training camp roster by nine players, returning six to their respective teams and releasing three from tryout contacts, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The training camp roster now stands at 59 players, including 33 forwards, 19 defensemen and seven goaltenders.

The Blue Jackets returned the following players to their respective clubs:
F Ben Boyd (Saint Mary's University/USports)
D Denton Mateychuk (Moose Jaw/Western Hockey League)
F Luca Del Bel Belluz (Mississauga/Ontario Hockey League)
F Mikael Pyyhtia (TPS/Liiga)
F Martin Rysavy (Moose Jaw/Western Hockey League)
D Stanislav Svozil (Regina/Western Hockey League)
The club also released the following players from tryout contracts:
F Liam Hawel
F Samuel Huo
F Evan Vierling
Columbus, which is 2-0-1 in preseason play, returns to action tonight when it visits the St. Louis Blues. Game time from Enterprise Center is 8 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on BlueJackets.com and the club's app and can be heard on Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan.
The Blue Jackets open their 22nd regular season at the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, October 12. Game time from PNC Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
