The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Emil Bemstrom to the roster from the taxi squad, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The Blue Jackets have also recalled center Zac Dalpe and center Ryan MacInnis to the club's taxi squad from the Cleveland Monsters, the team's American Hockey League affiliate.
Bemstrom, 21, skated in the first five games for the Blue Jackets in 2020-21 and has recorded 10-10-20 and eight penalty minutes in 61 career NHL games since making his NHL debut in 2019-20. The Nykoping, Sweden native led club rookies in goals, points, power play goals, game-winning goals and shots last year with 10-10-20, five PPG, four GWG and 97 shots in 56 games. Columbus' fourth round pick, 117th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft, the 6-0, 193-pound winger registered 23-12-35 in 52 career appearances with Leksands IF and Djurgardens IF from 2016-19.
Dalpe, 31, has posted 12-13-25 with 36 penalty minutes in 141 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Carolina Hurricanes since making his League debut in 2010-11. He has recorded 0-1-1 and 13 penalty minutes in 13 career contests with the Blue Jackets from 2017-19. The Paris, Ontario native has added 151-134-285, 185 penalty minutes and a +17 plus/minus rating in 383 career AHL games, including 3-1-4 and five penalty minutes in five outings with Cleveland in 2020-21. The 6-2, 194-pound center registered 7-4-11 in 18 games with the Monsters in 2019-20 before being sidelined with an injury on November 21 and missing the rest of the campaign. Originally selected by Carolina in the second round, 45th overall, at the 2008 NHL Draft, Dalpe was claimed off waivers by Columbus on Feb. 27, 2017.
MacInnis, 25, made his NHL debut in 2019-20, recording 0-1-1 and a +1 plus/minus rating in 10 games with the Blue Jackets. He has added 26-61-87 and 133 penalty minutes in 250 career AHL contests, including 1-1-2 in five appearances with the Monsters in 2020-21. The St. Louis, Missouri native collected 7-23-30 in 45 outings with Cleveland in 2019-20, finishing second on the club in assists and points. The 6-4, 201-pound forward, was acquired in a trade from the Arizona Coyotes on July 18, 2018. He was originally selected by the Coyotes in the second round, 43rd overall, at the 2014 NHL Draft.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Chicago Blackhawks. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Ohio and the FOX Sports Go app with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the "Blue Jackets Live" pre-game show. It will also be broadcast on the Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs Blue Jackets Radio Network, including 105.7 FM in Columbus.
