The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Stefan Matteau to the taxi squad, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Matteau, 26, made his Blue Jackets 2020-21 season debut on Monday at Carolina. He has registered five goals and five assists for 10 points with 32 penalty minutes in 75 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens and New Jersey Devils since making his League debut in 2012-13. Last season, he tallied 2-1-3 and five penalty minutes in nine outings with Columbus, while adding 12-16-28 and 41 penalty minutes in 50 games with the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters. New Jersey's first pick, 29th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, he has collected 69-77-146 and 408 penalty minutes in 361 career AHL games since the 2013-14 campaign.
