The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Elvis Merzlikins on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 15 and recalled right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Merzlikins, 28, suffered a hip injury on November 15 vs. Philadelphia and is expected to miss one-to-two weeks. He has posted a 2-5-0 record with a 4.74 goals-against average and .864 save percentage in nine contests with Columbus this season. He is 50-49-20 with a 3.00 GAA, .910 SV% and nine shutouts in 129 career games since making his NHL debut in 2019-20. The 6-3, 183-pound native of Riga, Latvia was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round, 76th overall, at the 2014 NHL Draft.
Fix-Wolansky, 23, posted one goal and one assist for two points with five shots in six games with the Blue Jackets in 2021-22. He became the sixth player in Blue Jackets history to score in his NHL debut with a goal on February 8 at Washington.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, he has totaled 41-49-90 and 99 penalty minutes in 119 career regular season games with the Monsters since making his professional debut in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. He ranks second in the AHL in goals (tied) and points in 2022-23 with 10-12-22 in 14 contests with Cleveland. He has posted goals in each of the last four contests (7-7-14) and registered four or more points in three-straight contest from November 11-18. The 5-7, 191-pound winger was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
