The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Joonas Korpisalo on Injured Reserve retroactive to Wednesday, December 1, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Korpisalo is sidelined due to a non-COVID illness.
Korpisalo, 27, has posted a 72-60-21 record with a 2.95 goals-against average, .904 save percentage and three shutouts in 168 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2015-16. A native of Pori, Finland, he is 3-4-0 with a 3.95 GAA and .885 SV% in eight appearances with the club this season. The 6-3, 193-pound netminder was selected by Columbus in the third round, 62nd overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
