The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed left wing Patrik Laine on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 12 and added goaltender Daniil Tarasov to the roster on emergency conditions from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Laine, 24, suffered a sprained ankle last Saturday at the NY Islanders and is expected to miss three-to-four weeks. He has recorded two goals and two assists for four points with four penalty minutes and 29 shots in eight games with Columbus this season. The 6-5, 205-pound native of Tampere, Finland has recorded 178-153-331 in 415 career games with the Blue Jackets and Winnipeg Jets since making his NHL debut in 2016-17. He was originally selected by the Jets second overall at the 2016 NHL Draft and was acquired in a trade by the Blue Jackets on Jan. 23, 2021.
Tarasov, 23, made the team out of training camp and has gone 1-3-0 with a 3.57 goals-against average (GAA) and .893 save percentage (SV%) in five games with the Blue Jackets this season. He stopped 30-of-31 shots in a 5-1 win to record his first career NHL victory on October 23 at the NY Rangers. The 6-5, 196-pound netminder has gone 1-5-0 with a 3.07 GAA and .913 SV% in nine career games since making his NHL debut in 2021-22.
The native of Novokuznetsk, Russia native is 11-5-3 with a 3.13 GAA and .893 SV% in 19 career games with the Monsters since making his North American pro debut at the end of the 2020-21 campaign, including a 2-0-0 record with a 3.48 GAA in two contests in 2022-23. He was selected by Columbus in the third round, 86th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
