The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Brendan Gaunce from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Gaunce, 28, has registered 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points with 59 penalty minutes, two game-winning goals and 186 shots, while averaging 10:34 of ice time in 148 career games with the Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks since making his NHL debut in 2015-16. Signed as a free agent with the Blue Jackets on July 30, 2021, he posted career highs in goals and points with 5-2-7, 12 penalty minutes and 44 shots in 30 contests in 2021-22.
A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Gaunce has added 86-101-187, 177 PIM, 16 PPG, 18 GWG and 739 shots in 290 career AHL games with Cleveland, Providence and Utica since making his professional debut in 2014-15. The 6-3, 219-pound forward is tied for the Monsters lead in assists and ranks third in goals and points in 2022-23 with 4-7-11, two PPG and 36 shots in 10 contests. He was originally selected by the Canucks in the first round, 26th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
