The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Jake Christiansen and added forward Carson Meyer to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Christiansen, 22, has posted one goal with two shots and a +2 plus/minus rating in four games with the Blue Jackets this season. He made his NHL debut on January 6 at New Jersey and collected a shot and two blocked shots on 12:46 of ice time. He also registered his first career goal on March 1 vs. New Jersey (Nico Daws).
Signed to a three-year, entry level contract with Columbus on Mar. 4, 2020, the native of West Vancouver, British Columbia has recorded 12-30-42 with 31 penalty minutes, four power play goals and 155 shots in 54 contests with Cleveland this season. He is tied for the AHL lead among blueliners in goals and ranks second in shots, third-T in points and seventh-T in assists. The 6-0, 186-pound defenseman has collected 15-42-57, 45 PIM, five PPG and 219 shots in 91 career AHL games with the Monsters and Stockton Heat since making his pro debut in 2019-20.
Meyer, 24, was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the sixth round, 179th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft and signed a one-year entry level contract with the club on Apr. 17, 2021. He ranks sixth-T in the AHL in shorthanded goals as well as leads the Monsters in goals (tied) and shorthanded goals with 16-11-27, 63 penalty minutes, three SHG and 130 shots in 57 appearances this season. The Powell, Ohio native has tallied 25-22-47, 76 PIM, seven power play goals, three shorthanded goals and 199 shots in 83 career AHL outings since making his professional debut with the Monsters in 2020-21.

A graduate of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets program, Meyer registered 42-47-89 and 114 penalty minutes in 137 career NCAA games at Miami University and the Ohio State University from 2016-20. As a senior with the Buckeyes in 2019-20, he set career highs in goals, points and plus/minus rating as he collected 17-14-31 with 26 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating in 35 appearances.
