The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Carson Meyer from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate and assigned right wing Emil Bemstrom to the Monsters, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Meyer, 25, recorded one goal and two assists for three points with six penalty minutes, 13 shots and an "even" plus/minus rating in 13 contests for Columbus in 2021-22, including making his NHL debut on April 4 vs. Boston. He notched his first career NHL goal and assist one night later on April 5 at Philadelphia.
A native of Powell, Ohio, Meyer has registered 6-12-18, 22 PIM, three power play goals, 47 shots and a +10 plus/minus rating in 15 contests with the Monsters in 2022-23. He ranks ninth-T in the AHL in assists and 10th-T in points and is tied for the team lead in assists and PIM and ranks second in points and PPG. The 5-11, 184-pound forward has totaled 31-34-65, 98 PIM, 10 PPG, four GWG and 246 shots in 98 career AHL games since making his pro debut in 2020-21. Selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 179th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft, Meyer is a graduate of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets program and played college hockey at Miami University and The Ohio State University from 2016-20.
Bemstrom, 23, has collected 2-2-4 with two PIM, 16 shots and an "even" plus/minus rating in seven games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has totaled 21-19-40, 14 PIM and 203 shots in 124 career NHL contests since being selected by Columbus in the fourth round, 117th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft. The 6-0, 193-pound native of Nykoping, Sweden has added 9-7-16, four PIM, four PPG and 47 shots in 14 career AHL games with the Monsters, including 7-7-14, three PPG and 35 shots in 10 contests with Cleveland in 2022-23.
