CBJ sign C Ryan MacInnis to one-year, two-way contract extension

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Ryan MacInnis to a one-year, two-way National Hockey League/American Hockey League contract extension for the 2020-21 season, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
MacInnis, 24, made his NHL debut in 2019-20, collecting an assist, 13 shots and a +1 plus/minus rating in 10 games with the Blue Jackets. He skated in his first NHL contest on December 21 vs. New Jersey and recorded his first career point with an assist on December 27 at Washington. He added 7-23-30, 22 penalty minutes and was +6 in 45 appearances with the AHL's Cleveland Monsters. The 6-1, 200-pound forward set career highs in assists, points and plus/minus and finished second on the Monsters in assists, points and plus/minus rating.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, MacInnis has registered 25-60-85 and 133 penalty minutes in 245 career AHL outings with the Monsters, Tucson Roadrunners and Springfield Falcons since making his professional debut at the end of the 2015-16 campaign. He recorded 4-20-24 and 39 penalty minutes in a career-high 71 games in his first season with the Monsters in 2018-19.
Selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the second round, 43rd overall, at the 2014 NHL Draft, MacInnis was acquired by the Blue Jackets via trade from the Coyotes on July 18, 2018. He racked up 79-101-180 and 95 penalty minutes in 192 career appearances with the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League from 2013-16.
