The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed right wing Carson Meyer to a one-year, two-way National Hockey League/American Hockey League contract extension for the 2023-24 season, club general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Meyer, 25, has registered one goal and three assists for four points with 12 penalty minutes and 30 shots on goal in 27 career appearances with the Blue Jackets since making his League debut in 2021-22. He collected 0-1-1 with six penalty minutes and 17 shots on goal in 14 appearances with the team in 2022-23.

The 5-11, 184-pound forward spent the majority of the 2022-23 season with the Cleveland Monsters, registering 9-17-26 with 36 penalty minutes, five power play goals and 86 shots on goal in 34 AHL contests. He has tallied 34-39-73, 112 penalty minutes, 12 power play goals, three shorthanded goals and 285 shots in 117 career AHL outings since making his professional debut in 2020-21. He ranked eighth-T in the AHL in shorthanded goals as well as led the Monsters in goals (tied) and SHG in 2021-22 with 16-11-27, 63 PIM, three shorthanded goals and 130 shots in 57 appearances.

Meyer was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the sixth round, 179th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft. A graduate of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets program, he registered 42-47-89 and 114 PIM in 137 career NCAA games at Miami University and The Ohio State University from 2016-20.
