The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Kevin Stenlund to a one-year contract for the 2021-22 National Hockey League season, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Stenlund, 24, has recorded 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points with 20 penalty minutes in 68 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2018-19. The forward set career highs in assists and shooting percentage and tied his career highs in points, penalty minutes and games played with 5-5-10, eight penalty minutes and a 11.9 shooting percentage in 32 outings in 2020-21.
The Stockholm, Sweden native notched 6-4-10, eight penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 32 appearances with Columbus in 2019-20. He ranked second among team rookies in shooting percentage (10.5) and time on ice (13:59) and third-T in goals. He skated in four contests with the Blue Jackets in 2018-19, including his NHL debut on January 12 vs. Washington.
The 6-4, 215-pound forward was Columbus' second round pick, 58th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft. He has registered 21-24-45 and 40 penalty minutes in 99 career American Hockey League contests with the Cleveland Monsters from 2017-20. Stenlund also recorded 22-23-45 and 66 penalty minutes in 151 career games with HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League from 2014-18.
