The Columbus Blue Jackets join the National Hockey League in support of Hockey Fights Cancer by hosting the club's annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night, in partnership with OhioHealth, on Friday, Nov. 12 when the club hosts the Washington Capitals at Nationwide Arena. Among the elements planned for this special night include the conversion of all in-arena static and LED dasher board advertising to lavender. In game features will include Dr. Yvonne Efebera, Medical Director of the OhioHealth Blood and Marrow Transplant Program and Nichole E. Dunn, President and CEO of Flying Horse Farms.

In addition, the Blue Jackets have created digital Battle Cards for fans to recognize an individual or cause in their lives for which they are fighting. Fans can visit

to fill out and download the battle card or print and take a picture of themselves holding the card to share across their social media platforms using the hashtag #HockeyFightsCancer. Battle Cards that are shared across social media could be retweeted by the Blue Jackets.
In keeping with the NHL's message that the color lavender represents awareness for all types of cancer, fans are encouraged to wear the color and participate in the Blue Jackets Foundation's various fundraisers throughout the week. Special Jersey Auction & Raffle:The Foundation will be raffling the autographed official warmup jerseys worn by the players on the ice prior to the game vs. the Capitals. 50/50 Raffle, presented by KEMBA Financial Credit Union: The Foundation will be hosting a 50/50 Raffle, presented by Kemba Financial Credit Union, beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 and concluding after the second intermission on Friday, Nov. 12 to benefit the Foundation's pediatric cancer pillar. Round Up at The Blue Line Store: Fans visiting The Blue Line Stores at Nationwide Arena and Polaris Mall can "round up" their total at the register to make a donation to The Blue Jackets Foundation. The round up option is only available in-store on Friday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. until the end of the game.
The fight against pediatric cancer has been one of Blue Jackets Foundation's primary areas of focus since the team's inception in 2000. Hats For Heroes and additional fundraising programs have helped raise more than $4.4 million to fund a variety of support programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families, including therapy through distraction, critical research projects and assistance in providing palliative care for youth.
