The Columbus Blue Jackets trimmed their training camp roster by 20 players, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. There are currently 37 players in camp - 22 forwards, 11 defensemen and four goaltenders.

The Blue Jackets placed the following players on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League: D Gavin Bayreuther and F Trey Fix-Wolansky.
The club loaned the following players to Cleveland: F Tyler Angle, D Tim Berni, D Marcus Bjork, D Samuel Knazko and D Billy Sweezey.
The club announced that the following players on AHL contracts have been released from tryout contracts and have been returned to Cleveland: F Roman Ahcan, G Pavel Cajan, D Cole Clayton, F Cole Fonstad, F Brett Gallant, F Jake Gaudet, D Olivier Leblanc, F Robbie Payne, F Justin Richards and D Dillon Simpson.
G Nolan Lalonde has been returned to the Ontario Hockey League's Erie Otters. In addition, G Hayden Stewart and F James Neal have been released from their tryout contracts.

Columbus, which is 3-1-1 in preseason play, returns to action tonight when it visits the Carolina Hurricanes. Game time from PNC Arena is 7 p.m. ET. The contest will be broadcast live on BlueJackets.com and the club's app and can be heard on Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan.
